Iain Duncan Quartet
April 28 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm$15
Tenor saxophonist Iain Duncan teams up with keyboardist and chanteuse Ashley Wey for an afternoon of West-Coast jazz, bossa novas, ballads and blues at Pat’s House of Jazz in Crofton’s Osborne Bay Pub.
Backed by an in-the-pocket rhythm section of bassist Louis Rudner and drummer Cyril Lojda, the two deliver a delightfully fresh, mellow take on jazz favourites from the ’60s era.
They perform regularly together as a duo at the O Bistro Café in Victoria. Duncan has also played Hermann’s Jazz Club, the Northern Quarter and at the Victoria Jazz Festival, as well as numerous festivals around B.C. as a vaudeville entertainer.
He studied music at Capilano College, the University of British Columbia and at UVic.
Wey has toured the world playing on cruise ships and accompanying award-winning musicians, including the Parachute Club and four-time Grammy winner Manny Kellough.
Having studied music at Toronto’s Humber College, she works professionally as a pianist, singer, composer and arranger.
